5 Creative Balloon Decoration Ideas
Balloons are a quintessential item for any special celebration or party. But other than simply inflating them and duct-taping them to the wall, you can also get super creative!
Think of balloons like round building blocks. They come in a variety of colors and can be easily put together to create something unique and visually interesting. Instead of sticking with the common method of simply placing them at the perimeter, why not make balloons the main attraction of your upcoming event.
Here are five creative and fun balloon ideas that you can use for your next special occasion.
Circle Balloon Arch
This essentially looks like a giant wreath that is made up of balloons. The base of this is simple: get a round arch of your preferred size, and then affix your preferred balloons to the arch. You can even choose to mix different colors — a combination of light blue latex and pearlized balloons together with ivory balloons creates a classic, elegant feel — and sizes for a special touch. Here, you can really get creative too, by incorporating other elements, such as streamers or fake plants, into the arch.
Balloons Filled With Confetti
A simple one, but definitely a hit with the kids! Simply grab an empty balloon, fill it with confetti, and then inflate the balloon. You can also mix-and-match different types of confetti for different balloons. For a visual feast, you can use a transparent balloon, but you can also use opaque balloons as a gentle nudge to your guests to pop them open!
Glow-in-the-Dark Balloons
This one will add a wow factor to any occasion. To do this, put a glow stick in your balloon before inflating it up. This is especially great for an outdoor event, as watching the balloons light up in the dark can be a magical experience.
Balloon Backdrop
This will make for a perfect photo booth prop! First, decide how large you want your backdrop to be. Then, using already-inflated balloons, fill up the backdrop. You can have fun here with different color combinations, such as by creating a gradient, or drawing out a heart with red and pink balloons.
Ice Cream Balloons
Even people without a sweet tooth will fall for these balloons! After you’ve inflated your balloons, use duct tape and affix pieces of coloured paper, cut into small rectangles, onto the surface of the balloon. These will be the “sprinkles”. Roll a piece of beige-colored construction paper into a cone, and then use glue or tape to stick the balloon in the large opening. There you have an ice cream cone balloon!
